Implementation Period: February1 -February 28, 2021
In time for the Hearts’ Day and in the light of the LHIVEFREE Campaign of the Department of Health, the SAFE LOVE CAMPAIGN is a repackaged advocacy activity for condom and testing promotion at the community and workplace settings. This program was designed for the following purposes:
- This is to normalize and lessen the stigma that comes along condom use and HIV Testing, through the creation of safe spaces and milieus.
- This is to streamline testing and screening of key population (targeted intervention) and vulnerable groups.
- This is also a reinforcement of the Family Planning-HIV/STI Program Collaboration of the department to harmonize program approaches and accentuate the two-pronged program packaging of condom use, which are: 1) disease prevention and 2) family planning.
- This is to extend the extent of responsibility to the community to be stakeholders of self and others through the practice of safe and safer sex practices.
Hence, the following activities are recommended to be conducted in your respective institutions, whichever is applicable while observing the minimum health standards:
- Local launchings (online and on-site),
- Posting of the social media card in online pages, LED screens, etc.,
- Installation of condom and lubricant dispensers in strategic areas,
- Social media support for SAFE LOVE CAMPAIGN through posting of pictures (with condom and lubricants and support message) and related advocacy materials,
- Posting of activity pictures and documentation to the Facebook Group: DOH-Region 3 AIDS, STIs and Viral Hepatitis Prevention and Control Program (Link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1427532984164076/), and using the hashtags #PushPH #PushCL #PushSAFELOVE, and Media and social network optimization and related innovations for condom and HIV testing promotion.
